The Ministry of the Spirit PDF
By:Roland Allen
Published on 2012-06-01 by The Lutterworth Press

Roland Allen is internationally renowned for his controversial solutions to dilemmas within churches and missions. His works were first written in the first decade of the twentieth century, yet their ideas are so radical that they are still relevant today. Indeed, Allen predicted that his principles would not be broadly accepted until around fifty years after their creation. This selection of works by this mission pioneer and creative thinker takes extracts from Allen's other writings, which although having potential to be just as influential as those better known, have long been out of print. It is now the present-day reader's chance to investigate the theories within texts such as: Pentecost and the World, Non-Professional Missionaries, Mission Activities Considered in Relation to the Manifestation of the Spirit, St. Paul and the Judaizers: A Dialogue, An Illustration from V.S. Azariah, The Case for Voluntary Clergy and To the Parishioners of Chalfont St. Peter. Throughout all of these writings is Allen's central belief that the Holy Spirit is in the Church everywhere. This selection of texts makes an ideal accompaniment to Allen's significant works on missionary methods and principles, including Missionary Methods: St Paul's or Ours?, Missionary Principles and The Spontaneous Expansion of the Church, all of which have been reprinted by The Lutterworth Press.

Book Power Evangelism PDF

Power Evangelism PDF By:John Wimber,Kevin Springer Published on 2009-05-01 by Baker Books The message of Power Evangelism has been embraced around the world, and the book that started it all has become a classic, with more than one million sold. In 2006, Christianity Today named it one of the fifty most significant Christian books published in the past fifty years. This revised and updated edition describes the releasing of God's power through signs and wonders to refresh, renew, heal, and equip His people. Drawing from the teaching of the New Testament and with illustrations from his own experience, Vineyard leader John Wimber persuades the reader to |yield control of our lives to the Holy Spirit.| Though Wimber died in 1997, his teaching continues to spread throughout the Vineyard movement, through the broader renewal movement, and to Christians across the globe, even those who do not consider themselves charismatic. Coauthor Kevin Springer--also a Vineyard pastor--has found that

Book Pastoral Care Emergencies PDF

Pastoral Care Emergencies PDF By:David K. Switzer Published on 2000 by HSRC Press David Switzer presents a manual for pastoral caregivers, which covers the entire range of pastoral care emergencies typically faced by clergy, pastoral counselors, and lay caregivers such as Stephen Ministers and Befrienders. The book addresses such key issues as situational crises, hospital emergencies, ministry to the dying, bereavement, suicide, divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse, and psychiatric emergencies. The crucial question of when and how to refer is discussed in the final chapter. Highly practical in approach, but still extremely sensitive to the theological issues at hand in ministering to those experiencing great emotional, mental, and/or physical suffering, this is a book to keep on your reference shelf and reach for again and again.
